On Thursday June 26th, Moreland Properties’ Lake Travis office hosted a lakeside happy hour at the Lakeway Resort and Spa’s Vista Ballroom to celebrate the beginning of summer and to discuss the future of Lake Travis. The Vista Ballroom provided the perfect backdrop for the summer event, with beautiful views, a sun-filled room and plenty of space to mix, mingle and talk about a topic on everyone’s mind: water.
The event was attended by over 100 realtors, friends and residents of Lake Travis and featured an informative presentation from the President of the Central Texas Water Coalition, Jo Karr Tedder. Jo Karr gave us the scoop about what’s happening with LCRA and the Water Management Plan, and what needs to change to avoid such extreme lowering of the lake volumes in the future. With a team that has studied the issue of water and water management in our region, The Central Texas Water Coalition is a great resource for those of us in Lake Travis, representing the views and priorities of stakeholders in the area. CTWC is working to take a more proactive role in policy formation and creating a united effort to preserve and conserve water in the Highland Lakes.
Thanks to everyone who attended this happy hour, and especially to Jo Karr for the great presentation. Here are some pictures of the event. And happy summer to all!
